Corey Higgins
Founder, Director and CEO of Frostover Studios
Corey began his career in the film industry studying a Bachelor of Writing at the University of Canberra. With a major in screenwriting and undeniable passion for storytelling, Corey took the opportunity to move to Queensland and attend the New York Film in Academy where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Film.
During this time, Corey developed Frostover Studios as a way to showcase his portfolio of short films and concept pilot episodes for serialised television. These projects have created an opportunity for Corey to excel and create a company that will advance Australian story telling within the Queensland Film Industry and internationally.
Displaying a unique understanding in writing, having a keen eye for directing and a mind of a producer, Corey is able to adapt himself to any situation on or off set and he brings these skills and drive to Frostover Studios to pursue his dream of showcasing Australian talent, landscape and potential within the film industry.
Shane Salmon
Business and Marketing manager
Originally drawn to the creative world as an actor and a performer, as Shane grew up, he started to pursue it as a career however found himself drawn to the Film, TV, and Content world more broadly. While at film school Shane was introduced to the business side of industry and finally understood how he could tie his passions for creating and business together.
Having spent years owning and operating many hospitality businesses Shane realised he could no longer sustain his passions separately and sought ways to combine them once and for all. With experience in producing Film and TV as well as digital marketing content for brand advertising Shane has finally settled into the area, he knows he can do his best work.
With the goal to always push creative limits in concept design through to production he aims to create unique media that engages audiences in ways they never know they could. By keeping that same drive for creative freedom and pushing it into the way he approaches the business side if things as well, Shane is always trying to find and target new and specific market demographics meaning the client doesn’t just gain eyeballs on their content, but engaged individuals who become instant believes in their brand.
Jesse Schmerl
Cinematographer, Editor, VFX artist
Energic, deadline-driven, creative cinematographer, photographer, visual effects, and editorial artist with over 4 years of experience in every angle of digital media.
From a young age I have been interested in the digital medium, speeding my free time learning about cameras, mucking around photoshop and creating goofy little short films.
As I have grown, I have further wanted to pursue this passion, and make a living out of something I enjoy. Since then I have achieved a diploma in film and screen media, multiple accolades on short form content, ran my own freelance photographer company, shot video and pictures for several big-name festivals and worked alongside some amazing actors and filmmakers from all over Australia.
In my down time I like to hone my analogue film camera skills, fly first person drones and hang out with friends and family. You can often catch me at the Brisbane powerhouse enjoying a comedy show! (At least when the doors open back up)
Joseph Guilar
Editor and Photographer
Joseph is a visual storyteller with over a decade’s experience in both stills photography and film and video production. He spends most of his days editing video content for filmmakers and businesses across Australia, lending a keen eye to bringing out the best in client’s footage.
Whether working from a detailed brief, or handed hours of material and asked to create something presentable, Joseph is able to find the heart and meaning of your story and bring it to life.

A young passionate, forward-thinking sound designer with a strong interest in projects that require conceptually challenging ideas and consistently push boundaries.
Committed to designing sound that not only enhance and immerse an audience but also create engaging and storytelling soundscapes to accompany a visual tale.
From short form films, episodic television, feature films and all the way down to promo cuts, Taras will always deliver industry standard results and work in a collaborative environment to provide the client with an amazing end product.
